Did you know that Speech Buddies are eligible for reimbursement under most health Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA)? If you have one of these plans set-up through your employer, you probably have a new 2014 flexible spending account balance, so check it out!  Also, the U.S. Treasury recently relaxed the “use or lose” rules to FSA accounts and will now allow workers to rollover up to $500 in accrued but unspent benefits. That’s great news!

The new year is a great time to evaluate if your child’s progress. Read about normal development milestones to understand if your child is on the right track. If you have concerns, talking to your child’s teacher or pediatrician is always a great first step. In most cases, you will be assured that your child is doing great! But if there are any developmental delays or concerns, we can recommend without a doubt that taking action early is the right choice. If your child has a slight language delay or a mild articulation challenge, she can often be easily treated if the problem is addressed early. By waiting, your child risks falling further behind, which will then require a longer road to recovery.

Check out our Parent Education Center to learn more about specific speech and communication challenges, or read our blog for plenty of tips, tricks and advice on helping improve your child’s speech and communication skills. And get those FSA dollars working for your family this year! If you have questions about your child’s speech development, don’t hesitate to contact us.
