An articulation disorder is a speech sound disorder in which a child has difficulty making certain sounds correctly. Sounds may be omitted, altered, or substituted when forming words, sentences or even attempting to say the sound by itself. A common example is a lisp, when a child cannot pronounce S properly ("thock" instead of "sock") or an R sound ("wabbit" instead of "rabbit").
