A native Bostonian, Melissa has a Bachelor's degree from Loyola University and a Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology for the George Washington University. Melissa has lived, studied, and worked in Miami, New York, Washington, DC, and overseas in Leuven, Belgium and Barcelona, Spain. She is a bilingual state-licensed, national certified Speech-Language Pathologist with spent 20 years of clinical experience in the world of speech therapy were she owned and operated two speech private-practices providing diagnostic and therapeutic speech and language services to children and adults of varying backgrounds. Currently, she is the director of Miami SPEECH Therapy Solutions in Midtown Miami, Florida.
Previous experience includes articulation, voice, fluency, and aural rehabilitation. Clients have included transgender, stroke and dysphasia patients. Currently, she has focused her diagnostic and therapeutic work on developmental disorders including cognitive disabilities, autism spectrum disorders, early intervention, and stroke and dysphagia patients. Additional areas of interest include traumatic brain injury, adult rehab, accent reduction, and literacy.
Given her background in international education, communication, language, and business, Melissa uses her cultural sensitivity, enthusiasm, and professionalism to help clients reach their full potential.
