I have been practicing since 1988. I specialize in voice, speech-language, and swallowing disorders in children and adults. I earned my Masters in Communication Disorders after earning a Masters of Music in Vocal Performance, both at the University of Minnesota. I worked for the Sister Kenny Institute in Minneapolis before heading south to Faribault to work with developmentally challenged individuals at the Regional Treatment Center and then in group homes. I then worked for Northfield Hospital for over 10 years before going into private practice. I opened my own clinic, Southern Minnesota Speech Pathology in Faribault in 2010 servicing Northfield, Faribault, Owatonna and adjacent areas. I see patients in my clinic and I do home visits as well. I also currently maintain contracted services for a public charter school, two nursing homes, and four home care agencies. I incorporate AAC devices in my practice, especially the Lingraphica AllTalk and TouchTalk and the Dynavox Maestro, among other devices. I've taught at Mankato State University as an adjunct instructor in swallowing disorders. I am currently completing a practical articulation manual based on phonetic principles. I am also working on other publications with a focus on practical clinical applications.
I earned my BA at Columbia University in New York City, NY. I earned a Masters in Music in Vocal Performance and a Masters in Communication Disorders with a focus on voice disorders, both at the the University of Minnesota. My Master thesis was a study of spastic dysphonia.
