It’s St. Patrick’s Day! Even if you are not of Irish descent, St. Paddy’s Day is a great excuse to wear your favorite green outfit and make it a fun holiday for your kids! Most likely, your kids will celebrate in their classrooms with green cookies or punch, but here are some non-sugary ways to celebrate our favorite leprechaun, with your favorite leprechaun! Enjoy!

St. Patrick’s Day Crafts for Kids: Green Scrambled Eggs

Green Eggs: A fun way to kickstart your green day!

Supplies: Green food coloring and eggs.

Directions: First, make scrambled eggs as you normally would. Add a bit of green food coloring until you get the shade of green that you like.  Cook and eat!

Shamrock Hearts: An easy craft for all ages!

Supplies:  Plain or colored paper, pencils, markers or crayons.

Directions: Have your child draw hearts onto a piece of paper. When the three hearts are assembled, they form a shamrock shape!

St. Patrick’s Day Crafts for Kids: Shamrock Hair Clips

Shamrock Hair Clips!  Check out these adorable and easy-to-create hair clips from Molly Moo. Use them on clips, headbands and hair-ties!

Supplies: Felt, needle and thread, glue, hair clips

Directions: Draw a series of “M”s on the edge of the green felt. Cut them out and thread through the M’s, three M’s per shamrock. Pull the thread from each side tight to draw the leaves together to form a shamrock and knot at the back to secure. With the loose thread tie the shamrock around hairbands, hair clip, brooch clips, etc Add a drop of glue to make sure it sticks well.

St. Patrick’s Day Crafts for Kids: Green Pepper Shamrocks

Green Pepper Shamrocks:From The Chirping Moms, these is a super creative way to use green peppers and is a good alternative to finger painting.

Supplies: Green pepper, green paint, orange paper & green marker

Directions: Cut off the top & bottom of the pepper (big enough piece for the child to grip). Dip the pepper in green paint & use as a stamp on the orange paper. Let dry & draw on the green stems.

Finger Print Rainbow : Another cute craft from The Chirping Moms! While not green, your kids will love creating this fingerprint rainbow and pot of gold!

Supplies: Black paper, glue, paint in various colors & white canvas or card stock

Directions: Cut out a “pot of gold” shape from the black paper & glue it on to the paper. Have the child make a rainbow using their finger prints.
